Phoenix, AZ, June 12, 2018 - “There’s simply no compromise on price and performance by choosing a green coating such as ours and 25 years of application has more than demonstrated its performance and longevity in heavy industrial and commercial applications,” said Peter Roosen, CEO, Castagra Products Inc.
“Performance is such that the right primer coating can greatly extend the useful life of a roof rather than tear it down. The economics are changing for the better and, on top of it all, you are getting an environmentally benign solution with zero VOCs, zero BPA, and zero toxicity right now and in the future when the roof is eventually replaced or eliminated.”
The global roofing materials market is expected to have a CAGR of 3.13% and is projected to reach US$ 138.91 billion by 2024. The report claims the rise in demand for energy efficient roofs has given impetus to the market with growth in construction industry and urbanization of rural areas expected to drive the growth of this market in the coming years.
HNY Research projects that the Roof Coating market size will grow from US$ 1.89 Billion in 2017 to US$ 2.34 Billion by 2023, at an estimated CAGR of 3.62%. The roof coating market, states the report, is expected to witness considerable growth due to the growing awareness about environment-friendly roofing materials and increasing need for efficient building thermal management.
“25 years ago it always seemed that green products were more expensive and there was considerable doubt as to whether they would ever perform as well. In our business, we are up against well entrenched conventional epoxy coatings where the massive inertia against change to low VOCs and zero VOCs has been a long uphill struggle.
“But the public kept up the demand for safer formulations and enlightened clients got on board, and here we are today with green coatings now mainstream with, as I have said, no compromise on price or performance,” stated Roosen.
Castagra’s Ecodur coating is, essentially, a plasticized gypsum, made of renewable castor oil and naturally occurring soft rock gypsum. It was first developed in the early 1990s and is also foamable and sprayable, and has a Class flame retardant rating, as well as ANSI/NSF-61 certification for contact with drinking water.
Ecodur has coated the insides of hundreds of oil and production water tanks, water and wastewater facilities, frozen food storage sites, commercial floors and roofs. It is also able to combine molecularly with cellulosic materials such as wood, giving it unprecedented adhesion. During its extensive lifetime, it does not lose its flexibility and new coats can be applied to existing ones in repairs situations where full bonding is critical to maintaining waterproofness.
“Today, we are very much focussed on providing the roofing market with the best, greenest and toughest primer coating at the most competitive price possible. Green coatings cannot prosper if they are more expensive as the market is still merciless and won’t accept significantly more expensive products just because they are green,” concluded Roosen. Castagra Products Inc., has its registered office in Reno, Nevada, USA, and headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. It has its main toll production facility in Houston in Texas. The company is focussed on providing ultra-protective VOC-free, BPA-free, non-toxic coatings for roofing, floors, water and waste water industries and oil, gas, frac production water storage tanks and pipes.
