Castagra’s Coatings ‘Triples’ Applicator Margins as the Veggie-Plastic Displaces Traditional Epoxies in Major Applications.

Reno, Nevada, June 16, 2015 — One of the industrial coatings industry’s most revolutionary products, Castagra’s Ecodur, is proving a boon for applicators in the tough market conditions brought about by the huge fall in oil prices which has depressed activity in many areas of the oil and gas services industry.

Peter Roosen, CEO, stated,“Ecodur is such a high margin product that in these straitened times, we have been able to provide an outstandingly price competitive product to our applicators who, in some cases, have margins that are triple those they had with conventional epoxies they were previously using.

“Aside from the market competitiveness advantages for applicators using our products, we are demonstrably outperforming conventional epoxies in a number of key areas consistently over a wide range of applications.

“Ecodur’s ability to be applied in the most extreme winter weather conditions far exceeds conventional coatings. We have shown the coating’s broad robustness in the fracking industry with superlative performance with many harsh chemicals including acids.

“In the food and water-related industries, zero toxicity, being VOC-free, BPA-free, combined with a potable water certification, has put us way out beyond conventional epoxies,” continued Roosen.

Ecodur, which has a 20-plus year antecedent history of performance as ship deck and concrete structure coatings, is made of vegetable oil and the common mineral gypsum. It has additional major advantages of allowing itself to be re-coated with a 100% bond over an indefinite period with no limits on thickness and limitless retention of its flexibility, unlike conventional epoxies which micro-crack very quickly.

“The US oil and gas services industry took a hard knock with the oil price downturn and it may not be until the end of 2015 that we start seeing a significant turnaround. However, the US economy added 280,000 jobs in May, and the increase was more than analysts had expected and the biggest this year. Frankly, there are more reasons for it all to turn around than not, so we are very optimistic.

“Our applicators have very much appreciated the price competitiveness of Ecodur and they and us will emerge far stronger when the market does turn around because Ecodur is a solid winner not just on price but on performance for the customer,” concluded Roosen.

Castagra Products, Inc., is a leader in the multi-billion dollar premium eco coatings industry with its non-toxic, VOC-free, solvent-free, plasticized gypsum coatings that have pioneered the industry and offer outstanding versatility and protection qualities particularly in the fracking industry with its unique challenges for protecting steel containers and pipes. The company has toll production operations in Texas and California.
