Water & Wastewater 2014 Resolutions

With a new year, new resolutions are set in place to motivate. The typical ones are: lose weight and make more money. But in the water and wastewater industry, it’s about striving to improve customer and environmental efficiencies with new industry technologies, and cost-effectiveness. Below is a list of some new products and services that may do the job.

High-Efficiency Aerator
Airmaster Aerator of Deridder, La, designed a high–efficiency aerator that provides maximum function, but only uses a fraction of the energy require by other models. It uses a turbo blower and a two-sided impeller to maximize high-capacity water movement. It is powered by a 50-hp motor, and its design and operation replaces other aerators up to three times the horsepower, making it energy-friendly.

UltraPen PT4
Myron L Company’s amazing new pocket tester is used to measure free chlorine disinfecting power, free chlorine equivalent, and temperature. It’s designed to be accurate, quick, and easy to use in all kinds of water quality systems. Some of its features include: proprietary sensor design, temperature readout, waterproof, etc.

This bioelectrically enhanced wastewater treatment system is designed to help food and beverage companies cut operating costs and increase plant function. The procedure works by using electrically active mircobes to level the wastewater treatment process while encouraging clean energy. The wastewater pollutants are converted into electricity. The electricity is channeled back into an electrode, where microorganisms convert the electricity and carbon dioxide into methane fuel.
