3 Impressive Storage Tank Facilities

Here is a short list of impressive storage tank facilities. Is there any facilities we should add to the list?

Cushing Tank Farm
Unless you are in the oil business, there are only a few people who are familiar that the largest storage facility for oil is located in Cushing Oklahoma. This place is actually a home for around 2000 residents. Presently it is called as the Pipeline Crossroads of the World. This is because it has several number of large transmission lines that originates and terminates within the oil storage facility in Cushing.

This tank farm has the ability to hold up to 62 million of oil barrels which is almost enough to fill all the tanks of around half of all the cars in the United States.

Majority of the storage tanks are owned by major companies that include: Enbridge Energy Partners, BP, Semgroup Energy Partners, and Plains All Americans Partners.

The Future… Oman Oil Company
This company considers building a storage facility that has the capacity to store around 200 million barrels of crude oil within the Strait of Hormuz. However, this plans raises tension in Iran since it also has a nuclear plan. The proposal is that to make the facility larger from any other existing tank farm all over the world. This intends to surpass the biggest storage tank facility in the world at Cushing that can hold around 62 million barrels.

Presently, Oman is already looking into the possibilities of building the storage tank facility within the Arabian Sea Coast, southeast of Oman.

The truth is the idea of setting up a strategic storage facility in Oman is no longer new. Yet, the interest on it when revived escalated tension between the West of Tehran and Iran’s nuclear program. This idea came after the fact that Non-Opec in Oman produces around 90, 000 barrels each day yet it does not export any of its products.
